the huston toad is, as you might guess, a toad!
it inhabits east-central Texas, the weather there is subhumid tropical and rather mild winters. the main reason these poor little guys are endargered, is due to habitat loss and alteration. the conservation of forest land had redused the amout of wooded and wetland areas.
I think un-endandering these toads should be rather simple! conserve wetlands as well! they are just as importent to our worlds ecosystem! it doesnt make sense that out only priority is forest land.
But some other things that we could do is putting them in zoo's t help there population and stoof! as well as turning there land into a national park. I dont know about you, but i would love to walk through some wet lands!
I know Im saying "we" alot, but in truth I know there isnt much we can actually do. Unless you work for the goverment. But thats rather unlikly!
If these amphibens adapted better to forest land, there problem would be solved! but i kinda doubt that could work, mostly because toad are a water creater. I dont think the can live in a dry area like the forest.
Its sad but I dont think theres any saving these guys. People really dont seem to care about this species of toad, theres hardly anyone talking about them! So the probablity of them escaping the fate is really low. All I hope is that the few that are left live a long, happy, and a fullfilling as life can get for a toad!
